Favorite shoujo romance manga

This manga is an absolute gem in a sea of awful shoujo manga with a**hole love interests and detestable tropes.
The main character is realistic, and her struggles are relatable. The love interest is genuine and kind. Their relationship feels real. I don't know what else to say besides READ IT!
Oh yeah, the art style is great, too.

Highschooler romance and club

I'm not a fan of romance sport manga, or anything to do with that... But, I like this manga... so much.

I guess those who did their best in club at HS could relate themselves better to its story plot. And the romance went sooo slowly... But, well, once again, I think I can relate when they concerned themselves too much with club, they don't have that much time to be lovey-dovey.

You know, rather than those manga who made me asking, "hey, don't they have other worries beside romance? how about school? life? come on, it's high school, dude.", this manga is kinda refreshing.

Both MC have their own worries over club, friendship, and family. There's nothing like dark past, or any heavy themes. Just a light and refreshing manga, with slow romance pace, warm days, doing best for their aim, some realistic conflicts...without too much drama.

I'm glad the mangaka didn't use such classic conflicts such as love triangle, broken family, a super guy who helped the girl in front of everyone, or girls-fake-friendship. I like how normal are the characters here. Maybe I've read too much shojo and tired of those fluffy unrealistic things that only concerned about love-life. The normal-life feeling I got from this manga gave me a 'new' feeling. Yep, it's a good read 🙂

'Do your best!'

I think 'do your best!' sums up the entire story... I read through the entire first volume, and parts of the second. And then skipped to the sixth, read a chapter from there, without feeling like I missed much. The stuff I missed was patched up through flash backs. The characters were still putting forth the same 'do your best!' attitude.

I might just be in a cynical mood XP... Generally, I like these sorts of mangas. (Skip Beat is my favourite shoujo), but I think the lack of variety really dragged it too far for me. I enjoyed the manga a lot in the first two chapters when the story was fresh, but after another volume, I felt that there wasn't much progression. I also don't feel too attached to the main character. Will go back to this on another day and see if it's more enjoyable.

Honestly, they're so earnest that they make me feel guilty for being so unenthusiastic about everything. Tsubasa and Daisuke--the both of them are really hard-working and seeing all their hard work makes me regret (just a little) about being so nonchalant about my extra-curriculars at HS.

Anyway, the two main characters are really likeable. They're both honest and refreshing. I it, the naivety and the whole "do you best!" thing can get a bit tiresome, but I think it's positive as well. I mean, it's refreshing, how the focus isn't on romance. It's about achieving your dreams, and how you need to act in order to get results.

Yeah, it almost makes me want to get off my lazy behind and do something worthwhile. Almost.

This manga is so pure and earnest. Kinda like Kimi ni Todoke except less romance and more hard work. Ha.

I like this better than Koukou Debut, actually. It's so uplifting and the colored art is really, really beautiful.

It's so wonderfully heartwarming and it makes you coo and aww in all the right places and just feel so happy and just maybe want to just maybe keep cheering them on.

It's one of those stories that are normal life stories, but it's one of those good ones. The characters are all so right in their own way and you can't help but feel fond of them. Like a good friend, maybe.

You them in their emotional ups and downs, and there's really not any character you can dislike.

I enjoyed koukou debut but it's really this series that does it for me.

Love the art here, especially the colour pages. The watercoloured pages really suit the mood of the series. There's a feel of realism to the story, almost like she's reminiscing her high school day of reaching for those dreams.

There's a nice pacing going on now and while it's in a way rather slow, i think it just gives more depth to the characters and story. Another thing is that i like how the secondary or rather, side characters seem to have more depth and their own personalities. Like how Daisuke is more than just a happy-go-lucky person having his own problems and ignoring them. Instead, he faces them head on while choosing to be positive when in front of people. He shows that he knows that to get out of it he needs to work and does so, and that honest personality really shines through.

I'm really eager to see how these characters would develop.

One of my favourites! I highly recommend it~!
I can only hope during the chapters/volumes, it'll continue to be as good. I feel like with KOUKOU DEBUT, the story somewhat lost it's essence towards the end... and wasn't as good how it initially was.
It's weird, because Ono would typically be the shoujo character that I would be annoyed at and hate, but here, she portrayed as a positive and energetic go getter! Which is really inspiring and makes you feel like you can learn a thing or two from her.

Daisuke is by far, one of my favourite characters~ his hard working ethic is irable <3

I've only read three chapters but since the beginning, Aozora Yell has delivered. The series is really touching, and it lifts up my mood every time. The story is refreshing, and the characters themselves are endearing. I think I'm starting to like Ono more than Haruna of Koukou Debut! I'm always looking forward to reading new chapters and learning what happens next, it's crazy. Haha. Anyway, this manga is highly recommended! It's definitely a must-read.

Bought the raw manga, volumes 2-4, because I wanted to know what happened next. My Japanese is very poor, but it's worth it.

Yes, there will be a confession, and like Kimi ni Todoke, there will be a misunderstanding. Someone gets rejected (if I'm not very much mistaken, lol). Would like to see more of Mizushima in volume 5. ;)

Baseball and brass bands

This is not just an ordinary run-of-the-mill shoujo love story between high schoolers. This is an uplifting work that focuses on ambitions of youths striving for something meaningful during their short three years of high school, the so-called spring time of their lives. The girl is shy and introvert, the type a female reader would love to hate, but in this case, she was also determined to change for the better. You can't possibly hate a girl like that! But coming out after the massive hit that was Koukou Debut would be tough, as expectations run high. I hope this will last longer than 2 volumes, that's all I'm praying for.
