I've read a few chapters of this at the beginning and I really don't know how this garbage got almost 200 chapters now. I stopped reading when it was around 80 chapters or so because it was just getting more outlandish and ridiculous. The story is sub par and the art isn't anything worth mentioning, the revenge aspect keeps the reader interested for a while, atleast until it's clear that it's just going to be drawn out and wrung completely dry. The only other thing that keeps the reader interested is the shock value and by chapter 100 all of it's shock value has plummeted to nothing, like with the current chapters that have been released the storyline is some sort of death game show put on by the main villain. It makes no sense at all and just makes it seem like Japan is full of psychopaths when they're really not that common, it just devalued the story and it's characters. I understand that the main villain had a small group of people close to him that's he's conditioned since childhood to be psychopaths but why would literally hundreds of people enjoy watching people connected to the MC die horribly and be willing to kill people themselves. Maybe I missed something in the story but my guess is that it's just convoluted BS. I only keep checking in once in awhile because I just want to see the way it ends, but by the tastes of the author I highly doubt it'll be a "happy" ending. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends in some stupid way like the villain saying that he "loved" the MC and wanted to make see the "real" him then commit a murder suicide. I also won't be surprised if it just goes on permanent hiatus or is left unfinished. The last thing I'll say is "read at your own risk" because it's basically torture & murder porn mixed with revenge porn where the revenge is never fully exacted. I like revenge as much as anyone but if that's what you're looking forward too then prepare yourself because this just leaves the reader with metaphorical blue balls.

Don't take it too seriously

Tries to be an edgy, serious revenge story, but fails horribly by how over the top it is. If you don't take it seriously and instead read it as more of a comedy, because of how ridiculous it gets at some points, it's not bad and quite entertaining. Turn off your brain and enjoy the gore.

This is the most correct take I've ever read in a manga review. I'm stunned.

This is about as much of a psychological thriller as Spongebob, but at least the latter tried to develop its female cast.

I've read through c132 mostly out of boredom and it is pretty entertaining for the wrong reasons. Generally I found myself criticizing the story from an editor's perspective, wondering what it is about the environment the manga is released into that makes it so reliant on spectacle instead of story. I wonder whether there were decisions made based on keeping readership numbers high rather than furthering the narrative in the way the author intended, or if it would have always lacked depth. Thanks to the regular use of flashbacks, it's surprising how many opportunities for interesting side stories haven't been taken. Also surprising is how the ones which have been told have largely been to further the shallow portrayal of evil as evil. I know it's shounen but not even a smidgen of nuance? A sliver off the rind someone was going to send to the nuance garbage bin?

It's utterly unconscionable how badly grandpa has been wasted in this manga. I really have no way to describe the absurdity of how his potential to a story like this has been consistently ignored.

If you can't handle rape, animal cruelty and torture scenes just find something else to read. I can't handle the Saw franchise but this wasn't as bad.

As of chapter 115 ~

The story is not gonna be for everyone. I fully it I skimmed through the parts that were triggering for me. That said, story wise, the beginning is sort of a hot mess. The pacing is weird, the art is a little meh at the beginning but does improve over time. I read this thing relatively fast. The story opens up at about chapter 85, almost like a reset.

The story after the 2nd time skip feels like it's almost being written by another person.

If you like revenge stories and can push past triggering scenes it's not bad so far, though if the pacing of the story was slow and took forever to get through, I probably would have drop the series.

Are you in the mood for a revenge story? Great, then this may scratch that itch! are you in the mood for a GOOD story? Then steer clear because this shit is hot garbage. I've read a lot of dumb stories but this one is just stupid.

Where do we even begin? Well, let's start with stuff we don't have to suspend our disbelief for. Like, yeah, it's ridiculous that five kids get away with literal murder like it's their hobby for their entire childhoods, but we can let that fly -- it's needed for the Story™. Yeah, it's pretty damn absurd that the female lead walks into the most obvious possibly rapey traps after being forced into a rapey trap by the plot, but that's all just to get you to see how Good the main character is...

But IS he good?!?!? How can he be Good... if he KILLS PEOPLE?!?!

This manga pretends to discuss the gray morality of humanity, all the while using the words "EVIL! EVIL! EVIL EVIL EVIL. PURE EVIL" to describe the antagonists, a bunch of kids who are, ahem, ...pure evil.

They kill a cat early on so that should show you that they're evil, because only evil people kill cats -- and EVILLER people kill cats AGAIN. What about three times? Might as well go for the tic-tac-toe of cat murder, right? Nakatake has you covered!

Putting aside the merits of using

animal abuse as a plot device to convey the "evilness" of someone (as, in real life, it is a valid indicator of someone's moral com, although it feels cheap and like a shortcut when used in storytelling), the story also outright tells you. They're evil. I looked in his eyes and I saw that he was EVIL! He didn't change, he's STILL evil. This means that murder is justified! Because, like, murder is cool when you're murdering a shithead.

That's the thing -- the manga is about killing shitheads. It's not clever, it's not smart, it's extremely simple and two-dimensional. Where this manga shines is with its torture scenes. They're graphic, gross, disturbing, mostly unique, and aptly karmic. But all the parts between the torture scenes are just extremely ham-fisted attempts at justifying the torture, usually by showing you how Evil a guy is. There might be a chapter or two where they lazily give you a quick reason why the guy became evil, but they don't actually try to flesh them out or make you feel complicated about the torture. You're supposed to revel in the torture, so why would they make the Evil guys feel human? They don't. So I'm not sure why they bother with quick backstory chapters that show you that actually this guy snapped because his friend made him build a clay robot and then his friend destroyed it so now because his friend was mean, he likes to go around raping people and killing things.

That's another thing -- all bad characters are rapists, animal abs, etc. No gray morality. Just... clearly Bad People doing Bad Things getting their comeuppance. The only exploration of grayness is via the main character, the one performing the revenge killings,

as well as his grandfather, although that doesn't get dug much into either. However, the manga seems to be overly obsessed with showing us how cool the main character is and how good he is at killing people, so as of chapter 102, it still hasn't actually conveyed meaningful sense of purpose. Obviously he's the good guy, he kills bad people! Killing is bad, but the bad people he kills are worse! Sometimes he ! fucks up and kills a good guy, but he does time and forgets about it anyway!

Some scenes are embarrassingly predictable, but what kept me -- and keeps me -- reading is the torture scenes. I had ittedly not seen

skinning via vegetable peeler or using the pear of anguish in a manga before. I've consumed a fair amount of fucked up media so to be surprised by creative madness is still thrilling. One of the chapters had a torture scene similar to Clockup's Euphoria, which I'm rather impressed they got away with in a shounen manga.

And here's the thing. Yes, I think this is stupid as hell. But also? That's what kept me reading. This is about as much of a psychological thriller as Spongebob, but at least the latter tried to develop its female cast. The entertainment value of Juujika Rokunin is the absurdity

(dark web hitman requests websites? How archaic. Why go through the effort of ing Tor when you could just have a private Twitter that people need to request access to before they can request their own personal murder?! #PleaseKillThisRapist) and the creativity of its violence. If you're not into riffing or gore, there's nothing here for you. If you want a mindless revenge story, this might also be good -- just don't expect it to challenge you at all.

Annoying FL

I want to like this. I want to read about revenge and whatnot. I can even forgive how edgy everyone is and how nonexistent the police is. But I absolutely cannot stand the FL. Why? Why is there even a need? Why can't we just stay true to the story, why tf do we need stupid FL like her? And all the other distractions?

Also this is just my own pet peeve so nothing to do with the story. But I absolutely ABHOR it when MC don't nip any danger in the bud. For example, why do they even need 4 years of waiting before exterminating everyone? I just don't get it. Why let vermin live longer than they need to? Of course this make it so there's story but it just bother me sooo much the grandpa don't just kidnap everyone and throw them from the top of the mountain. But I actually don't understand the bullying from the first chapter in the first place, I just don't get it why MC never knifed them the minute they start so these type of pacifist MC never gel with me. Of course I understand some people are just not raised right but it's just bizarre to me to take any disrespect from anyone, much less bullying.

This could have been great. The premise of the story is somewhat interesting, like the fact that

his grandpa was part of the special torture unit. .
But the characters are too extreme. And I don't think it's possible for 5 of these psychopaths to get away with murder, rape etc over and over.
Initially I thought this me a slightly edgier version of Holyland. But honestly this feels more like the author expressed his murder/rape fetish in a manga. Characters are pure garbage, storyline is going worse and worse, with a lot of things that cannot be explained. The villains are raping and doing whatever they want. What is the police doing in this situation?

The only people that will like this is people that are in the mood for violence and murder fetish.
Could have been interesting, but then decided to be pure garbage.

All the characters are the epitome of edge. Also it doesn’t really make sense how there are 4 psychopaths in a school and you’re telling me that one of them tortures animals on the daily, another guy (HE IS FIFTEEN) owns a PROSTITUTION RING and NONE of them have been caught?? Yeah, super realistic.. LIKE BRUH seriously?? that 15 year old even keeps a sex slave in his damn apartment.

FL is also so annoyingly stupid, she never learns from her past and keeps doing the same shit over and over again.

She almost gets raped by a guy and that’s horrible but fortunately the MC saves her just in time. But no joke, like a week later, she gets somehow entangled into a prostitution ring and a bastard sexually assaults her. And instead of thinking “holy shit this is bad, I should fucking leave this place”, she DECIDES TO STAY?? like WHY? You goddamn KNOW it’s a prostitution ring and you’ve almost gotten raped TWICE and you still don’t understand?? I’m not trying to victim blame, I am literally also a victim of sexual assault but like DAMN girl!! Is your brain just for show?? She also literally no joke thought it would be ‘fun’ to be an underage prostitute selling yourself to old men (even after her experience with sexual assault), I literally don’t understand at all.

It’s not realistic at all and the characters are very 2D but yknow at the end of the day, it’s not bad. Just some decent revenge manga. The revenge scene are satisfying so that’s that.

What's the probability of 5 sociopaths of the same age going to the same elementary school in the same small town? Why is the mc keeping up the facade of being a normal high schooler, instead of just dedicating his time to assassinating his enemies? Why the hell is the detective suspicious of the mc? Who investigates an accident that killed a family of 3 and concludes that it's a murder plot by a bunch of elementary schoolers?? If you're willing to overlook such immersion breaking silliness, it's a good revenge manga.

The villains are sufficiently over the top evil, the side characters are sufficiently flat, dumb and uninteresting, and the mc is sufficiently edgy. It's all silly, edgy, unrealistic fun times.
